Did you know that studies show that kids and teens who have more exposure to character-building skills, such as sharing, being kind and helping others, are more likely to volunteer in their communities, and with greater frequency?
Mentorship
Youth must participate in a one year relationship with one of our mentors. The child will be matched with a mentor based on his or her needs. The coach will spend at least five - eight hours a month engaged in a mutually agreed-upon activity with their protégés. The coach will communicate with their protégés weekly—by telephone or email—to keep in touch about what is going on in their lives.
Leader in Training Program
We are not like any other youth outreach. T.Y.B.L. is proud to have its own unique Youth Leader in Training Program. The program is different from other youth programs in that the protegee' take with them a knowledge of African studies (who they are), purpose, self discovery and servant-leadership. Community Service plays a vital role in our servant-leadership style.
Tutoring & Other Resources
We offer tutoring and homework help. The areas of focus at this time is Reading, Social Studies, Science and Spelling. In the future other subject areas will be offered.
Drop off and Pickup services from school for busy parents is also offered at this time.
